I've been there.

Hi, I’m Christine 👋

When I first moved to Germany, I thought I’d settle in quickly. Instead, I found myself surrounded by people yet feeling completely cut off — lost in conversations, second-guessing every interaction, and wondering if I’d ever feel like I truly belonged. Sound familiar?

Through patience, persistence, and more than a few awkward moments, I figured things out—the long, hard way. Now, with over 20 years in Germany, and a career spent helping others bridge the same gap, I know what actually works (and what just wastes your time).

That’s why I created Next Level German: to take everything I’ve learned — the practical tools, cultural know-how, and mindset shifts — and make the whole process faster, simpler, and far less lonely for You.

Because this isn’t just about learning a language.
It’s about feeling confident, connected, and at home — right here in Germany.

Life, Just in German

Christine's podcast — stories, interviews and the small, specific business of building a life in a second language. Free, public, and the easiest way to hear how this works before you join anything.

Listen

Is this you?

  • Feeling isolated, even after taking German classes?
  • Struggling to follow conversations with locals?
  • Unsure about the unspoken rules, customs, and red tape?
  • Watching people switch to English the moment you hesitate — and losing the chance you came prepared for?

What actually changes

Not a certificate. Not a grammar table you can recite. The change shows up in the ordinary places first.

You make the call

The appointment, the Handwerker, the BĂĽrgeramt. The one you've been putting off, or asking someone else to make.

You stay in German

Even when it takes longer. Even when they offer English. You have the sentence ready before you walk in.

You ask the second question

Not just the one you rehearsed — the follow-up. That's the moment a transaction turns into a conversation.

Your life gets bigger

The neighbour, the joke, the thing you overheard and understood. Participation instead of politeness.

We don't teach you about German. We put you in situations where German is the thing that's happening — prepared, supported, and with people who know not to switch to English on you.

Four tracks, four parts of your life

German moves outward — from the rooms you know best, into the city, into conversation, and into your work. You don't have to climb them in order, but most people start at A.

A · Home Life

Build German through the routines, meals, objects and conversations you already have. Where beginners start.

Doors open 15 September 2026

B · The Life-Essentials Trail

Take it outside. Real errands in real Wiesbaden businesses, prepared beforehand, in a network that has agreed to stay in German with you.

From 20 October 2026

C · Sprachraum

Coached conversation. Either German-only, or Sprachraum-50/50 — equal protected time for German and English, so nobody is anyone's unpaid teacher.

First Sprachraum-50/50 event January 2027

D · Professional German

German for work — meetings, calls, clients, introductions. Part of VIP.

Enrolment opens by end of January 2027; begins 2 March 2027

Tracks A, B and C are included in both paid memberships. Track D is part of VIP.

Hi, I'm Christine

I'm American, I've built my life here, and I've worked in language education since 2005. I know the specific loneliness of understanding a room you can't join.

I also know it doesn't get solved in a classroom. It gets solved at the bakery, on the phone, at the hairdresser — in the places where people actually live. That's what this is.
